Philippe Arrii-Blachette, art director of Sillages Ensemble chose to group in this CD six works of Allain Gaussin. They testify of the style of the composer, profoundly inhabited by a constantly evolving energy but also by a ceaseless melodic search.

Arditti quartet, four interpreters at the top of their art, gives life to "the conception fundamentally energetics of the sound material in Allain Gaussin’s works" (Alain Durney). The sound material of Chakra results from a mess of extended techniques of an extreme variety and novelty as well as of a contrapuntal writing reinvented by the composer.

Ogive is played by the young ensemble Triton II who aims to promote contemporary music in keeping with the thinking of composers. In that piece, the meditative thought of Allain Gaussin, joining together Western tradition and Far eastern tradition, is here splendidly interpreted.

Through these "Répertoires polychromes", the Documentation Center of the Contemporary Music pays tribute in " the daring of the composers " as in the " talent of their interpreters " which build together " the musical directory of our future ". Triton II plays with talent the transcription for flute and harpsichord wich was written before the transcription for flute and piano.

Composer and flutist, Yvan Bellocq achieves, with an immense sensibility, the will of Allain Gaussin " to invent something new in melodic phrase ". The influence of the musics of Far East appears in the modal writing ornamented as in the very uncluttered conception of time.
